Phase One "Nearly There"

I notice that the late evening services between Manchester and Chester which have been buses on Mondays to Thursdays, are to be trains again from September 9th.

So work on Phase One - Manchester to Newton-le-Willows and to Lowton Junction - is presumably expected to be mostly completed by then.

  1. Transpennine Express now have a page on their web site about their new 350s - http://www.tpexpress.co.uk/newtrains/ - which says the electric Manchester-Scotland services will start in December 2013.

    1. I wonder how many new 350s, currently under construction, will be available for service by December.

  2. I've also heard that OHL work at Manchester Victoria is planned this December over an 8 day period, plus I've also heard that TPE are going to be training on a Class 350 loaned from London Midland, which is expected at the end of July.

    1. Interesting! I wonder where the training will take place, probably Preston northwards.
